The Senior Food Service Equipment Technician diagnoses, repairs, and maintains commercial cooking, refrigeration, and warewashing equipment for customers throughout Lenexa, KS and the surrounding Kansas City metro. This is a full-time, hourly field service role that pairs hands-on repair work with training and technical support for less experienced technicians. Pay is $34.00-$38.00 per hour depending on experience, plus a quarterly bonus tied to billable utilization.

Key Responsibilities - Senior Food Service Equipment Technician
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on a wide range of food service equipment. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Conduct scheduled inspections to identify developing failures and recommend repair or replacement. Observe operation and adjust controls, calibrate, clean, and replace defective parts.
- Communicate with customers to understand equipment concerns and explain technical issues, repair processes, and associated costs. Respond promptly and deliver on committed timelines.
- Order and maintain inventory of parts and components, and keep accurate service records by computer or tablet for every inspection, repair, and replacement.
- Train and provide technical support to other technicians to support continuous development of their skills and processes.
- Install, diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on commercial cooking, refrigeration, ice, and warewashing equipment.
Qualifications - Senior Food Service Equipment Technician
- 5+ years of direct or related experience diagnosing and repairing commercial food service equipment.
- EPA certification for refrigeration required.
- Strong technical skills across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, with accurate assessment of equipment condition and attention to detail.
- High school diploma or equivalent. Technical or vocational degree or certification in a relevant field preferred.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Ability to work periodic on-call nights and weekends on a rotating schedule.
Preferred Qualifications - Senior Commercial Kitchen Equipment Technician
- CFESA training or manufacturer-specific service certifications.
- Prior experience mentoring, training, or leading apprentice and mid-level technicians.
- Experience across cooking equipment, commercial refrigeration, ice machines, and warewashing.
- Comfort using tablet or mobile work order systems for service documentation.
Physical Requirements - Senior Food Service Equipment Technician
- Lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Climb short and tall ladders.
- Stand, bend, squat, kneel, and stoop throughout the shift, with full range of motion in arms, hands, and legs.
- Work in various weather conditions, including hot kitchen environments and walk-in refrigeration.
