Position Highlights:

• The Senior Foundation Accounting Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring the financial integrity, stewardship, and transparency of Foundation funds that support lifesaving research, patient care, and institutional priorities. • Reporting to the Director of Foundation Finance, this role serves as a trusted financial partner-overseeing fund accounting, reconciliations, reporting, and compliance across a diverse portfolio of philanthropic funds. • This position is ideal for an experienced accounting or finance professional who enjoys deep analysis, complex reconciliations, systems-driven work, and collaboration across finance, research, and development teams-all while supporting a mission that truly matters.

Responsibilities ----------------

• Maintain and oversee the Foundation accounting subledger to ensure accurate and timely fund balances. • Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and fund/account analyses in accordance with GAAP and Foundation policies. • Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end fund balance reporting, including dissemination to clinical, research, and administrative stakeholders. • Research discrepancies between donor systems and accounting records, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. • Manage and monitor Foundation funds and sub-accounts to ensure proper use in alignment with donor intent and institutional guidelines. • Develop, maintain, and enhance financial dashboards, analytical reports, and reconciliation tools to support transparency and decision-making. • Collaborate with Development Operations, Accounting, Research Finance, and other internal partners to improve fund management processes and financial controls. • Review and approve requests for fund distributions, serving as a financial advisor to internal account officers. • Assist with preparation for audits, IRS Form 990, endowment interest allocations, and internal compliance reviews. • Support forecasting, trend analysis, and strategic financial planning initiatives tied to philanthropic funds. • Assist with preparation and maintenance of annual department operational budget. • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen financial stewardship and reporting efficiency.

Credentials and Qualifications -----------------------------

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required. • Minimum of four (4) years of professional experience in accounting, auditing, or financial analysis. • Strong experience preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports. • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial data and resolve discrepancies. • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with financial systems. • Strong attention to detail, documentation, and internal controls. • Excellent communication skills and ability to partner effectively with non-finance stakeholders. • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience -------------------

• Prior experience supporting philanthropic or restricted funds. • Experience with donor and accounting systems such as Raiser's Edge and/or Financial Edge. • Knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles and regulatory requirements. • Experience supporting audits, compliance reporting, and financial governance. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process-improvement mindset.
