Senior Full Stack Developer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Full Stack Developer to support a critical enterprise modernization initiative. In this role, you will help migrate and modernize complex, backend enterprise retirement financial transactions away from legacy systems to meet tight quarterly deliverables. You will work closely with engineering teams to build robust Java/Spring Boot REST APIs and modern React frontends, focusing on intricate financial business logic—specifically around Roth IRAs, 401(k)s, specialty retirement actions, and trade orchestration.

Key Responsibilities

• Legacy Modernization: Refactor and migrate complex financial transaction workflows off legacy core systems into high-performance, modern microservices.
• Backend & API Architecture: Build and execute robust, secure Java REST APIs that process heavy, rule-based financial business logic (e.g., Roth conversions, retirement conditions, specialty actions).
• Frontend Integration: Build responsive, user-friendly UI components using React and JavaScript to interface seamlessly with modern transaction APIs and trade orchestration services.
• Financial Data Security: Implement Spring Security and best practices to ensure strict compliance and data protection for sensitive financial transactions.
• Data Model Mapping: Map intricate business rules and domain models effectively across modern backend services and UI interfaces.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience: 8+ years of hands-on software development experience.
• Backend Expertise: Deep proficiency in Java and Spring Boot, specifically focused on building production-ready REST APIs.
• Frontend Expertise: Strong working experience with JavaScript and React for web applications.
• Domain Knowledge: Proven background working with complex business logic and high-integrity transactional flows (financial services, retirement plans, trading, or banking background strongly preferred).
• Security: Solid understanding of Spring Security and standard API security models for handling enterprise financial data.
• Modernization Workflows: Hands-on experience navigating and migrating off legacy enterprise systems.

Note on Scope: This role focuses strictly on application logic, API orchestration, and UI design. There are no database (DB) development requirements for this project.
Preferred (Nice-to-Have)

• Knowledge of retirement financial products (Roth IRAs, 401(k)s, conversions, distributions).
• Familiarity with cloud-native workflows or lightweight AWS concepts.
