Location: Washington, DC (Remote)

Seeking for an Senior Functional and Automation Tester to support the quality, reliability, security, and performance of enterprise applications and cloud-based services. This role will focus on functional and automated testing of Java-based backend services, RESTful APIs, GCP-hosted applications, AI-enabled solutions, and container/serverless environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform functional, integration, regression, API, and automated testing of enterprise applications and backend services.
• Test and validate Java-based backend applications and services.
• Design, develop, execute, and maintain functional and automated test scenarios.
• Perform comprehensive testing of RESTful APIs, including requests, responses, payloads, error handling, and service integrations.
• Validate API authentication and authorization functionality.
• Test applications and services deployed on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Validate serverless and container-based application environments.
• Support testing of applications integrating AI capabilities and AI services.
• Evaluate AI-enabled functionality and support basic monitoring and validation of AI outputs.
• Validate secure engineering requirements, including least-privilege access, service accounts, secrets management, encryption in transit and at rest, and audit logging.
• Support automated testing within CI/CD pipelines and Git-based development workflows.
• Troubleshoot application and cloud-related defects using logs, metrics, monitoring, and observability tools.
• Participate in defect identification, triage, root-cause analysis, retesting, and regression validation.
• Support performance troubleshooting and production issue resolution.
• Work closely with Engineering, QA, DevOps, Product, and Security stakeholders to resolve technical and quality issues.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and testing activities throughout the SDLC.
• Follow established change, configuration, testing, and application lifecycle management practices.
• Document test results, defects, risks, and technical findings and communicate them clearly to stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience in technology, software development, software testing, or related technical environments.
• Strong experience testing or working with Java-based backend services and APIs.
• Strong understanding of functional and automation testing concepts.
• Hands-on experience with applications running on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience with serverless and/or container-based architectures.
• Strong experience testing RESTful APIs and service integrations.
• Knowledge of API authentication and authorization patterns.
• Experience working with applications that integrate AI capabilities or AI services.
• Familiarity with AI evaluation and monitoring concepts.
• Knowledge of secure engineering practices, including least privilege, service accounts, secrets management, encryption, and audit logging.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and Git-based workflows.
