As a part of the Certerra Insight Group family, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of interesting projects, with opportunities for growth and leadership.Certerra Insight Group has an immediate opening for a full-time Senior Geotechnical Engineer for our North Charleston, SC office to provide a variety of geotechnical, civil, and materials testing services. The position is best suited for an experienced geotechnical engineer interested in working in a fast-paced consultant environment, capable of effectively working as part of a collaborative design team.Duties As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will apply your engineering capabilities to a variety of projects. A strong applicant must have an educational and/or professional background in geotechnical engineering; a background in construction field services and/or field exploration services is advantageous. Strong report writing and communication skills are necessary.Responsibilities include Conduct geotechnical investigations: Perform field exploration, laboratory testing, and analysis to determine soil and rock properties. Common analyses will consist of settlement and bearing capacity of shallow foundations, axial and lateral capacities of deep foundations, static and seismic slope stability, seepage analyses, seismic site class determination, liquefaction triggering and post-earthquake settlement estimates, and ground motion / site-specific response analyses.Design foundations and earthworks: Develop designs for foundations, retaining structures, and other earthworks.Prepare technical reports: Write detailed reports on findings, analyses, and recommendations.Provide technical support: Assist in the design and construction of commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects.Project Budgeting, Scheduling, and InvoicingProject management: Oversee geotechnical projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.Collaborate with other engineers: Work closely with civil, structural, and environmental engineers.Education/Qualifications BS or Master's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering [required]Advanced degree in geotechnical engineering or related field [desirable]5-10 years Geotechnical engineering experienceAbility to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as neededStrong report writing and computational skillsExperience using industry-standard geotechnical design and analysis softwareDesire for mix of office and outdoor, hands-on workCertifications/Licenses Professional Registration: Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of South Carolina.#J-18808-Ljbffr
