Senior GI / Endoscopy Technician
Location:Mission Hills, California
Shift: Day Shift – 5x8-Hour Shifts
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior GI / Endoscopy Technician for an outpatient endoscopy center in Mission Hills, California. This role is ideal for a skilled endoscopy professional with strong procedural experience and the ability to work collaboratively in a high-volume GI procedural setting.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience supporting endoscopic procedures, maintaining procedural equipment, and assisting physicians and nursing staff within a fast-paced outpatient environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist physicians during GI and endoscopic procedures
- Prepare procedure rooms, instruments, scopes, and equipment
- Perform back table setup and room preparation
- Support procedures including:
- Upper Endoscopies (EGD)
- Colonoscopies
- Polypectomies
- Biopsies
- PEG Placements
- Banding
- Balloon Dilations
- Bravo Procedures
- X-Track Procedures
- Perform high-level disinfection and reprocessing of procedural equipment
- Maintain patient safety and infection prevention standards
- Assist with specimen handling and procedural documentation
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and procedural staff to support efficient workflow
- Ensure proper care and maintenance of endoscopy equipment
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of Endoscopy Technician experience required
- Candidates must meet one of the following:
- SGNA education/program completion; OR
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with Endoscopy experience
- Current BLS Certification required
- First-time travelers not accepted
- Strong GI procedural and equipment handling experience required
Required Equipment & Procedure Experience
Candidates should have experience with:
- Colonoscopes
- EGD Scopes
- EBUS
- EUS
- Enteroscopes
- ERCP Scopes
- Fiber Optics
- Flexible Sigmoidoscopes
Preferred experience includes:
- EPIC EMR
- ProVation documentation system
- Back table setup
- Room setup and turnover
