Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior GIS Analyst / GIS Application Developer to support enterprise GIS applications, geospatial data management, and advanced mapping solutions.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with ESRI ArcGIS technologies, ArcGIS Enterprise, Python, JavaScript mapping APIs, and GIS application development. This position requires a combination of advanced GIS analysis, web application development, and enterprise asset data management.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform advanced GIS analysis, spatial data validation, and enterprise geospatial data management.

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain GIS web applications using ESRI technologies and JavaScript mapping APIs.

• Develop complex, multi-layered maps, spatial analysis tools, and automated GIS workflows.

• Support ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro, ArcSDE, Portal, ArcGIS Server, and associated data stores.

• Develop Python scripts to automate GIS processes, data extraction, transformation, and analysis.

• Maintain GIS datasets associated with infrastructure and enterprise asset management systems.

• Integrate GIS applications with enterprise databases and asset management platforms.

• Collaborate with technical teams and business stakeholders to troubleshoot issues and improve GIS functionality.

• Develop and maintain GIS applications supporting Linear Referencing Systems (LRS).

• Communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Cartography, Computer Science, or a related field.

• 6+ years of experience in GIS analysis and GIS application development.

• 5+ years of experience with ESRI GIS technologies, including ArcGIS Pro 3.x or newer.

• 5+ years of experience designing, developing, and delivering web applications.

• Strong knowledge of ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Server, Portal, ArcSDE, Web Adaptors, and Data Stores.

• Experience developing web applications using ArcGIS API for JavaScript or comparable JavaScript mapping APIs.

• Proficiency in Python for GIS scripting, automation, and data processing.

• Experience developing complex GIS analysis and interactive mapping solutions.

• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple technical assignments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Linear Referencing Systems (LRS) and ESRI Roads and Highways or similar platforms.

• Experience working with enterprise asset management systems and geospatial datasets.

• Proficiency in Oracle SQL, PostgreSQL, and spatial database queries.

• Experience with data extraction, transformation, analysis, and scripting tools.

• Experience with Power BI or similar reporting and visualization platforms.

• Experience integrating GIS applications with enterprise systems.

• Background supporting transportation, infrastructure, or large-scale enterprise GIS environments.

Additional Information

• Hybrid schedule requiring 3–4 days onsite per week in Richmond, VA.

• Occasional in-state travel may be required.

• Candidates must reside within the United States throughout the assignment.
