Overview

We are seeking a Senior Hardware Development Engineer to join a collaborative engineering team developing advanced industrial automation control systems. In this role, you will contribute across the full hardware product development lifecycle from circuit design and system integration through verification, testing, and regulatory compliance. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong, team oriented engineer who enjoys mentoring others, learning new technologies, and taking increasing ownership of complex products.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate within an agile team to design and develop industrial automation products, including system architecture and hardware verification
  • Design, program, analyse, and troubleshoot electronic hardware prototypes
  • Prepare clear and thorough design documentation and test reports
  • Lead technical initiatives such as researching new technologies, adopting new circuit design tools, and performing root-cause analysis of hardware failures
  • Partner with engineering peers to implement test automation and design simulation
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships to support the full product development lifecycle
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practices and standards

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in cross-functional hardware product development
  • Strong attention to detail and a high sense of ownership
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Growth mindset with a willingness to learn, mentor others, and expand technical responsibility
  • Legal authorisation to work in the United States (Our client sponsorship is not available for this role)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • Experience with design capture tools and the ability to read and interpret schematics
  • In-depth knowledge of circuit theory and operation, including microprocessors, digital logic, analogue and/or DC power conversion, and programmable devices (CPLDs, FPGAs)
  • Hands-on experience with hardware test equipment such as debuggers, oscilloscopes, and logic analysers
  • Knowledge of industrial control systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and/or functional safety design
  • Experience working in a scaled agile environment
  • Familiarity with functional safety standards (e.g. IEC 61508) and/or EMC standards (e.g. IEC 61000)
