Salary Range: $103,000.00 - $117,800.00

Position Summary

The Senior Health Policy Research Analyst will contribute to a portfolio of health policy research focused on examining impacts of policies on healthcare delivery, access to care, and health outcomes. The health policy research analyst will work as part of a research team on projects that employ mixed methods, including qualitative, quantitative, and legal mapping methodologies. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, a willingness to take on a variety of responsibilities, and enthusiasm for working in a collaborative environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct qualitative interviews with healthcare and health policy stakeholders and analyze findings using established qualitative methods.
  • Perform legal mapping by identifying, reviewing, and characterizing laws and policies across federal, state, and local jurisdictions.
  • Conduct analyses to evaluate the implementation and impact of health policies on healthcare delivery, access, and outcomes.
  • Analyze secondary data sources, including survey and insurance claims data, using appropriate quantitative methods.
  • Review and synthesize scientific literature, policy documents, and other evidence to support research activities.
  • Prepare manuscripts, presentations, and other research products for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Maintain accurate research documentation and ensure data quality and adherence to project protocols.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support project planning, implementation, and dissemination of findings.

Education

  • Masters Degree in economics, health policy, public health or related field

Experience

Preferred Experience

  • Training and experience in qualitative methods, including conducting qualitative interviews and analyses.
  • Training and experience analyzing secondary data sources, such as survey data or insurance claims.
  • Experience reviewing policy or legal documents and synthesizing complex information.
  • Experience with statistical software (e.g., Stata, SAS, R, or Python).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of health policy and health services research.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret complex quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

  • Work is primarily performed in an office environment.
  • Occasional travel may be required for meetings, conferences, or research activities.
