Summary Statement
Lead, coach, and elevate the hockey experience! The Senior Hockey Staff Coach plays a key role in delivering high-quality recreational hockey programming by instructing and coaching youth and adult hockey classes and supporting the coaching of house league youth teams. This position emphasizes skill development, safety, teamwork, and sportsmanship while providing exceptional customer service to participants, families, and visitors. Open to individuals ages 18 and older.

Essential Functions
Instructs and coaches adult and youth hockey classes and teams. Follows plans from the Hockey Department. Prepares ice for practice by checking nets and ice for safety hazards.
Answers questions from parents, guardians, and players regarding practice plans.
Performs other duties as assigned. Nothing in this job description restricts managements right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this position at any time.

Physical Efforts
While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently lifting/carrying up to 10 pounds and rarely lifting/carrying up to 20 pounds. Also, the employee is frequently pushing/pulling up to 10 pounds. The noise level is frequently moderate and rarely loud. Work includes sensory ability to touch. Work in this position also includes close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. Employees will sit, stand, walk, runn, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, grasp, climb and balance. Working Environment
The work environment will include inside conditions and outdoor weather conditions. Work includes protected exposure to bodily fluids.
19-Hour Temporary
All temporary part-time employees working less than an average of 19-hours per week are not currently eligible for benefits.
4-Month Temporary
All 4-month temporary employees working an average of 40-hours per week will accrue personal leave which can be used during employment.
8-Month Seasonal
In addition to accruing personal leave, anyone in an 8-month seasonal position working over an average of 30-hours per week is eligible for medical coverage.
9-Month Temporary
In addition to personal leave accrual and medical coverage, a position that is classified as a 9-month temporary is eligible for PERSI retirement benefits with required standard employee and City contribution rates
