Senior Level Hospital Scheduler

Full-Time | 1.0 FTE | Day Shift

PeaceHealth is looking for an EXPERIENCED healthcare scheduling professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at coordinating complex workflows, and enjoys being the critical link that keeps patient care moving forward.

As a Senior Hospital Scheduler, you'll play a vital role behind the scenes, ensuring patients receive timely care while supporting physicians, nurses, technologists, and procedural teams across multiple departments. Your expertise in scheduling, coordination, and problem-solving will directly contribute to operational excellence and an exceptional patient experience.

Compensation: $23.97 - $36.00 per hour, based on experience.

This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement. Multiple openings may be available.

What You'll Do

As a Senior Hospital Scheduler, you'll be responsible for ensuring the seamless coordination of procedures, resources, and patient appointments across the organization.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Scheduling surgical and procedural cases across multiple departments and service lines
  • Creating and maintaining daily schedules to maximize provider and department efficiency
  • Identifying scheduling conflicts and collaborating with leadership to implement solutions
  • Coordinating equipment, room availability, and staffing resources required for procedures
  • Managing cancellations, reschedules, and schedule adjustments in real time
  • Communicating with physician offices, nursing units, and external healthcare organizations to coordinate patient care
  • Supporting patients and families through pre-procedure scheduling and preparation processes
  • Gathering, organizing, and maintaining procedural documentation and patient records
  • Performing data entry and documentation within multiple healthcare information systems
  • Serving as a primary resource for internal and external scheduling inquiries

Qualifications

Required

  • Scheduling and health records experience in a hospital or healthcare setting
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and healthcare scheduling systems
  • Working knowledge of staffing office systems and customer service principles

Preferred

  • Two or more years of office, administrative, scheduling, or healthcare support experience
  • College-level secretarial training, office management coursework, or equivalent experience
  • Medical terminology knowledge
  • Experience with CareCast, ImageCast, Outlook, Word, Excel, Picis, or related healthcare systems
