Job Title: Senior HR Consultant
Location: Oakland, CA
Pay Rate: $60 - $70 per hour, W2
Duration: 3+ Month Contract
Work Mode: Hybrid or Fully Remote

Summary:
- Provides consulting and guidance to company leaders and employees on performance management processes.
- Collaborates with leaders in developing action/improvement plans to address performance gaps.
- Interprets company policies and procedures for specific situations.
- Initiates collection of information and research for HR Managers, Directors, subject matter experts, or the Law Department when a problem warrants escalation due to complexity or sensitivity.
- Collaborates with HR team and line of business clients to ensure root cause is identified for full resolution.
- Follows-up with HR team and line of business clients to ensure solutions are completed and problems have been addressed.
- Conducts internal investigations in response to complaints, working directly with leaders and employees through interviews and information gathering in support of the workplace issue resolution process.
- Summarizes event facts and analysis for review and submission to EEO Investigators, Law Department, HR, and other relevant parties.
- May also perform HR Business Partner duties such as senior leader advice and counsel, and HR program delivery (succession planning, annual pay process, etc.).
Requirements:
- B.A. in Business or Social Sciences.
- Minimum 3 years of experience working in Human Resources, with 2 years in an increasingly responsible role as a lead or specialist.
- Experience in employee relations and conflict resolution.
- Experience in diagnosing and resolving performance issues.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of California labor law and federal employment regulations.
Preferred Skills:
- Emphasis or Certification in Human Resources or Labor Relations.
- Master's in Business Administration or Labor Relations.
- Experience working in a union environment.
- Labor Relations, Compensation, Succession Planning, and Leave Management.
- Knowledge of company policies and union contracts.
