Senior HR Generalist (Contract)

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a knowledgeable and hands-on Senior HR Generalist to support day-to-day human resources operations in a fast-paced environment. This contract opportunity requires an experienced HR professional who can hit the ground running and provide support across employee relations, benefits, compliance, performance management, onboarding, and HR administration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted HR resource for employees and managers regarding HR policies and procedures.

  • Manage employee relations matters, including coaching, conflict resolution, investigations, and corrective actions.

  • Coordinate onboarding, orientation, and offboarding activities.

  • Support performance management processes and employee development initiatives.

  • Administer benefits programs and assist employees with benefits-related inquiries.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.

  • Maintain employee records and HR documentation within HRIS systems.

  • Assist with leave administration, accommodations, and other employee support programs.

  • Partner with leadership on workforce planning, employee engagement, and retention efforts.

  • Generate HR reports and provide insights to support business decisions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

  • 5+ years of progressive HR Generalist experience.

  • Strong background in employee relations, compliance, and HR operations.

  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws.

  • Experience with HRIS systems such as Workday, ADP, UKG, Paycom, or similar platforms.

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.

  • Experience supporting multi-site or multi-state organizations.

  • Prior experience working in a fast-paced corporate, nonprofit, healthcare, or manufacturing environment.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive pay of $30-$45/hour, depending on experience.
