Senior Hr Generalist

Job description:

The Senior HR Generalist supports the day-to-day human resources operations within a manufacturing environment. This role partners with plant leadership and employees to assist with a variety of HR initiatives while helping ensure compliance with company policies and applicable employment laws. The position contributes to maintaining a positive workplace culture and supporting business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Support general HR operations across the manufacturing facility.
• Partner with supervisors and managers on employee relations matters.
• Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning activities.
• Support performance management and employee development initiatives.
• Help administer company policies, procedures, and HR programs.
• Maintain employee records and HR documentation.
• Assist with leave administration, attendance tracking, and other employee-related processes.
• Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.
• Participate in investigations and recommend appropriate resolutions as needed.
• Coordinate training and employee engagement activities.
• Prepare routine HR reports and maintain data accuracy.
• Collaborate with corporate HR and cross-functional teams on various projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Several years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• General knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR information systems.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional HR certification is a plus.
• Experience supporting hourly and salaried workforces.
• Familiarity with manufacturing operations and workforce dynamics.

Work Environment

This position is based in a manufacturing facility and requires regular interaction with employees throughout the plant. The role may involve time spent in both office and production environments and requires flexibility to support operational needs.Manage benefits administration, ensuring accurate enrollment, communication, and compliance with applicable laws such as FMLA and workers' compensation regulations

• Drive change management projects aimed at organizational improvement and process optimization
• Administer HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) such as Oracle HCM, UltiPro, or SAP SuccessFactors to maintain accurate personnel data
• Support workforce management through strategic planning, organization design, succession planning, and affirmative action initiatives
• Handle employee relations issues with professionalism and confidentiality while mediating conflicts effectively
• Ensure compliance with employment law in talent management practices and HR legal standards
• Utilize data analysis tools like Excel for HR metrics reporting and decision-making support

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of experience in human resources management or related roles within diverse organizational settings
• Demonstrated expertise in human capital management, benefits administration, and regulatory compliance management
• Proficiency with HR systems such as Workday, Lever, iCIMS, Kronos, or similar platforms; experience with ATS (Applicant Tracking Systems) preferred
• Strong knowledge of employment & labor law, FMLA regulations, and HR legal compliance standards
• Proven project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple initiatives simultaneously
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the organization
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel data analysis), data collection, and reporting tools
• Experience handling confidential information with integrity and professionalism
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or related field; advanced certifications such as SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP are advantageous
