Job SummaryThe Senior HR Generalist & Recruiter plays a key role in supporting a strong, engaged workforce with a primary focus on employee relations and workforce management. This position partners closely with managers and employees to address workplace concerns, provide guidance on policies and procedures, support performance management, manage corrective actions, and ensure consistent HR practices across the organization.
Talent acquisition is also an important focal point of the role. The Senior HR Generalist & Recruiter supports full cycle recruiting for manufacturing, technical, professional, and hourly positions while partnering with hiring managers to understand workforce needs and attract qualified talent.
The ideal candidate is a proactive, hands on HR professional with strong employee relations experience, sound professional judgment, and the ability to build trusted relationships with employees and leadership. This individual should be comfortable balancing day to day workforce needs with recruiting, compliance, onboarding, performance management, and broader HR initiatives.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities- Serve as an HR partner to managers and employees, providing guidance on employee relations matters, policies, procedures, and workplace concerns.
- Support conflict resolution, corrective actions, performance issues, and other employee relations matters.
- Partner with managers on workforce management needs and provide HR guidance that supports employees and business operations.
- Maintain compliance with applicable employment laws, HR best practices, and company policies across supported locations.
- Assist with performance reviews, corrective actions, policy administration, and policy updates.
- Support employee engagement, retention initiatives, internal communications, and programs designed to strengthen the employee experience.
- Manage full cycle recruiting for manufacturing, technical, professional, and hourly positions.
- Partner with hiring managers to understand current and future workforce requirements.
- Develop job postings, source candidates, screen resumes, conduct interviews, coordinate the selection process, and support offers.
- Develop recruiting strategies and maintain awareness of compensation and talent market trends.
- Coordinate onboarding and orientation to provide a positive and welcoming new hire experience.
- Track and manage recruiting metrics and applicable HR KPIs.
- Maintain accurate employee and candidate information within HRIS and ATS platforms.
- Generate reports and maintain documentation related to recruiting, employee files, workforce activity, and manager communications.
- Perform administrative responsibilities related to employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, and general HR operations.
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise appropriate professional judgment when handling sensitive employee and company information.
Required Skills & Qualifications- Bachelor degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of combined HR Generalist and recruiting experience.
- Strong employee relations experience, including policy guidance, conflict resolution, corrective actions, performance matters, and manager support.
- Experience with workforce management and supporting employee populations in an operational environment.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, and HR best practices.
- Full cycle recruiting experience, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, offers, and partnering with hiring managers.
- Experience recruiting manufacturing, technical, professional, or hourly employees.
- Experience with onboarding and new hire orientation.
- Experience supporting a manufacturing or multiple site workforce.
- Experience using HRIS and ATS platforms such as ADP, Paycom, UKG, or similar systems.
- Ability to manage recruiting metrics and HR KPIs.
- Strong communication, relationship building, organizational, and problem solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and professional judgment.
- Ability to work on site in the Macon, GA area Monday through Friday.
- Ability to travel up to 5%, including international travel if necessary. Extended travel may be required.
Preferred Qualifications- SHRM CP or PHR certification.
- Bilingual Spanish and English.
- High volume and hourly recruiting experience.
- Experience with LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, Handshake, or similar recruiting platforms.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.
- Experience generating reports using Excel or HR systems.
