We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior HR Professional to join our thriving Construction industry team. This is a permanent position that offers a unique opportunity to play a significant role in shaping the future of our company. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of human resources, ensuring compliance with California and federal laws, and fostering a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, integrity, and commitment. You will be a key figure in talent acquisition, employee retention, and engagement, working with both union and non-union employees.
Responsibilities
1. Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
2. Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, or other issues.
3. Manage the recruitment and selection process to attract and retain top talent.
4. Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance.
5. Maintain pay plan and benefits program.
6. Assess training needs to apply and monitor training programs.
7. Report to management and provide decision support through HR metrics.
8. Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management.
9. Handle employee investigations, LOAs, Protected Leaves, and ADA requirements.
10. Supervise HR administration, HRIS, scheduling, and coordination tasks.
11. Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, integrity, and commitment.
Qualifications
1. Proven working experience as an HR professional for 5+ years, preferably in the construction industry.
2. People-oriented and results-driven.
3. Demonstrable experience with human resources metrics.
4. Knowledge of HR systems and databases.
5. Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills.
6. Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
7. Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.
8. In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices, specifically California Compliance and Federal Laws.
9. Experience with union and non-union employee management.
10. Proficient in HRIS and HR administration.
11. Proven experience in employee investigations, LOAs, Protected Leaves, and ADA requirements.
