Job Posting Description

Position Summary/ Department Summary:

Performs routine repairs and preventative maintenance inspections/calibrations on a broad range of electromechanical medical equipment. Independently, complex medical device systems and high-risk equipment in high acuity clinical areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently services complex medical device systems and high-risk equipment.
  • Works collaboratively with Information Services Department and other support service departments to manage integrated medical systems.
  • Performs routine repairs on a broad range of electromechanical medical equipment using basic test equipment and repair tools. Prepares and maintains related documentation.
  • Performs preventative maintenance testing of routine electromechanical medical equipment according to established procedures.
  • Understands medical device regulations and ensures assigned medical devices are managed in compliance with those regulations.
  • Participates in inspection tours of clinical and/or research areas using medical equipment.
  • Documents all service actions and complies with documentation guidelines and metrics defined in department policy.
  • Builds and maintains customer relationships and independently manages clinical resource area(s).
  • Consults and collaborates with peers to resolve outstanding issues.
  • Acts as a technical resource for both colleagues and clinical customer base.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Associate's Degree is required. Occupationally specific education in Biomedical Engineering or a closely related field.

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of related work experience is required.

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
