Position Overview
Prequel Solutions is seeking a Senior Human Resources Generalist for a growing manufacturing organization with a large-scale, high-volume operational environment.
This role is ideal for a hands-on HR professional who enjoys being close to the business, supporting frontline leaders, building strong employee relationships, and helping drive a positive and accountable workplace culture.
The Senior HR Generalist will provide day-to-day HR support across assigned departments and work closely with operations leaders, supervisors, and HR management. This person will be heavily involved in employee relations, investigations, onboarding, policy interpretation, leave management, compliance, and general HR operations.
This is not a sit-behind-the-desk HR role. The right person will be comfortable supporting a fast-paced manufacturing workforce, walking the floor, building trust with employees and leaders, and handling real-time people issues with professionalism, urgency, and sound judgment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day HR support to employees, supervisors, and department leaders in a manufacturing environment.
- Serve as a trusted resource for employee questions, concerns, and HR-related issues.
- Lead and support employee relations matters, including investigations, conflict resolution, documentation, and coaching.
- Partner with managers to address performance, attendance, conduct, policy, and workplace concerns.
- Support onboarding, offboarding, employment status changes, leave cases, and related HR administration.
- Interpret and apply HR policies, employment practices, and applicable federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Partner with internal HR teams including benefits, payroll, recruiting, and other functional areas to ensure timely issue resolution.
- Maintain accurate HR records, employee files, reports, and documentation.
- Support recruiting coordination and hiring process activities as needed.
- Participate in employee communications, engagement initiatives, associate committees, and HR projects.
- Monitor employee morale and maintain visibility with the workforce through regular interaction with employees and leaders.
- Assist with compensation reviews, promotions, organizational changes, and department restructuring discussions.
- Pull, review, and analyze HR data and reports to support decision-making and ensure data integrity.
- Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, systems, and employee experience.
- Maintain confidentiality and operate with a high level of professionalism and ethical judgment.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience.
- Strong employee relations experience, including investigations, documentation, and conflict resolution.
- Working knowledge of employment laws, HR policies, and HR best practices.
- Experience supporting hourly, frontline, or operational employee populations.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build credibility with employees, supervisors, and leadership.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, logistics, warehouse, healthcare, or other high-volume operational environment.
- HR certification such as PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar.
- Experience supporting 24/7 operations or large employee populations.
- Prior experience working with HRIS platforms.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is practical, approachable, and comfortable in a hands-on HR environment. This person should be able to balance employee advocacy with business judgment, stay calm in difficult conversations, and work well with a collaborative HR team.
This role requires someone who is proactive, visible, and willing to engage directly with employees and leaders. A strong cultural fit is important — the team values communication, accountability, collaboration, and a genuine desire to support people while keeping the business moving forward.
Why This Opportunity
This is a strong opportunity for an HR professional who wants to join a growing, stable organization with a large operational footprint and meaningful career growth potential. The company offers a collaborative team environment, competitive compensation, strong benefits, and the chance to make a visible impact in a critical HR role.
