Job Summary:

Fluency is looking for an experienced, strategic Senior HR Business Partner (HRBP) to support our scaling, remote-first team across the US. You will serve as a critical partner to cross-functional leaders, executing people strategies that accelerate business objectives while fostering a workplace rooted in open communication and inclusivity.

This role is integral to the health and success of the organization. You will dive deep into divisional goals to ensure every team has the right structure, talent, and processes to sustain impact and drive organizational evolution. Working in close collaboration with the Head of Talent, Talent Acquisition, and Learning Experience teams, you will analyze, build, and embed sustainable people initiatives across the full employee lifecycle with an emphasis on Performance Management and career pathing, ensuring that our team is feeling inspired and empowered to do their best work.

Your Role:

Strategic Partnership & Organization Design

  • Collaborate with leadership on organizational design, change management, and people strategy to support broader talent goals.
  • Act as a consultant to identify organizational gaps and drive change initiatives that align with Fluency's rapid growth while holding true to our values.
  • Own the "data story" for your client groups, using key metrics to drive insights regarding talent growth, engagement, and retention.
  • Serve as a trusted confidant and coach to Fluency leaders, guiding them through professional development and managing team dynamics.

Employee Relations & Performance

  • Autonomously lead complex and sensitive employee investigations, determining strategies, interviewing witnesses, and partnering with Legal to recommend resolutions.
  • Guide leaders through critical milestones, including quarterly performance reviews, promotions, succession planning, and terminations.
  • Provide recommendations on complex accommodations and Leave of Absence matters (FMLA, etc.) in coordination with the Benefits team.
  • Review and advise on sensitive employee concerns with a high degree of integrity and problem solving.

Programs & Policy

  • Lead the execution of compensation reviews, feedback cycles, and engagement surveys.
  • Audit and oversee incentive compensation plans,ensuring that commission structures are legally compliant, accurately calculated, and effectively driving the performance behaviors across the sales and operations teams.
  • Drive total rewards strategy by partnering with leadership and Finance to design, implement, and benchmark competitive compensation structures and sales commission plans that align with business growth and talent retention goals.
  • Iterate on existing employee relations policies and develop new processes that remain compliant while supporting a modern, fully dispersed workforce.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee relations documentation and provide consultative guidance across various business and Talent teams

What We Look For:

  • 5+ years of experience with a proven track record in a strategic HRBP role with extensive expertise in employee relations and leading complex investigations.
  • In-depth knowledge of current US employment legislation, best practices, and HR regulations (FMLA, ADA, etc.).
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, proactively identifying needs before they become issues.
  • The confidence to ask thought provoking questions and provide direct, empathetic feedback to leaders at all levels.
  • Experience navigating and fostering a strong company culture within a distributed/remote workforce.
