Senior Human Resources Generalist 

Expected salary around $90,000, with flexibility based on experience and qualifications. 

This position is on site in Jessup, MD. 

Alliance Material Handling is seeking an experienced Senior Human Resources Generalist to serve as a trusted partner to leadership while leading the day-to-day execution of our core HR functions. This is a hands-on role responsible for driving employee relations, benefits administration, compensation programs, policy administration, and HR compliance across multiple locations. This role is ideal for an HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-location environment and enjoys balancing employee support with business partnership. 

What You’ll Do: 

  • Serve as the primary resource for employee relations matters, conducting investigations, providing recommendations, and partnering with leaders to resolve workplace issues while ensuring consistency and compliance. 
  • Administer company benefit programs, including employee enrollments, qualifying life events, leave coordination, annual open enrollment, employee communications, and vendor partnership. 
  • Lead compensation administration, including market analysis, internal equity reviews, job evaluations, salary recommendations, and support of annual compensation planning. 
  • Maintain expert knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws while ensuring HR policies, procedures, and practices remain compliant. 
  • Partner with managers across multiple locations to provide guidance on employee performance, coaching, disciplinary actions, policy interpretation, and employment decisions. 
  • Manage employee leaves of absence, accommodations, and ADA/FMLA processes in compliance with applicable regulations. 
  • Serve as a subject matter expert within ADP Workforce Now, ensuring accurate employee data, HR workflows, reporting, and system utilization. 
  • Partner closely with Payroll to ensure accurate employee records and timely processing of personnel changes. 
  • Assist with HR reporting, workforce analytics, audits, and compliance documentation. 
  • Support onboarding, offboarding, policy administration, and other employee lifecycle processes. 
  • Assist with safety initiatives, workers' compensation administration, and return-to-work coordination as needed. 
  • Participate in special HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance the employee experience and HR operational effectiveness.

What You Need: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. 
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive Human Resources experience with significant exposure to employee relations, benefits, and compensation. 
  • Professional HR certification required (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or equivalent). 
  • Strong working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now is required. 
  • Experience supporting multiple locations and a distributed workforce. 
  • Experience within material handling, manufacturing, industrial, construction, logistics, distribution, or similar industries. 
  • Working knowledge of employment laws including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEOC, and other applicable federal and state regulations. 
  • Experience administering employee benefits and supporting compensation programs. 
  • Experience with workers' compensation, safety programs, and OSHA compliance is preferred. 
  • Strong conflict resolution, investigation, and employee coaching skills. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build trust across all levels of the organization. 
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
