We would love you to join our Supported Living Services team! As a Sr. Community Support Companion, you will have more than just a job - you will have the opportunity to directly impact someone’s life for the better! You will work with individuals in their own homes and surrounding communities. As a Sr. Community Support Companion, you will hire, train and supervise employees who teach and assist clients in building skills necessary to live independently in their own homes. You will oversee Supported Living Services that are provided in the individual's home and in varied community settings in Los Angeles county (Torrance, Culver City, Brentwood, Koreatown, West LA)
What is Supported Living?
Supported Living Services allow individuals with developmental disabilities to live in their own homes in the community, while developing independent living skills, creating meaningful relationships, and participating as active members in their families and communities
Responsibilities
Your daily routine can include:
Facilitating meaningful community connections
Establishing friendships
Exploring and participating in a variety of recreational and educational activities
Teaching independent life skills
Increasing helpful, adaptive behaviors
Having fun!
Other duties
Writing Individual Support Plan reports, coordination and arrangement of site scheduling, substitute coverage, hands-on training to Companions working with new individuals, compiling client data, assist new individual set-up for his or her apt and/or services to be provided
On-Call responsibilities:
24-hour on-call coverage
In the event of an emergency, the Senior is required to provide protection to the individual. This may include administering First Aid or CPR and telephoning 911 in the event of an emergency.

Requirements
Qualifications for the Senior Support Companion
This position requires at least a High School Diploma and two years of training and experience in providing support services for individuals who are challenged with physical or developmental disabilities, or an A.A. degree in psychology or a related field. Successful candidates will demonstrate honesty and respect while maintaining a positive, professional work ethic. Must have a prominent level of accountability and dependability. Knowledge of positive behavior supports a plus!

Able to support clients in their daily routines; including, but not limited to, nutrition, self-care, social, recreational, personal relationships, money management, etc.
Be certified in CPR/First Aid, and ProAct within the first two weeks of employment.
Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, squat, and lift 25 lbs.
Successfully pass a Live Scan DOJ/FBI background check and pre-employment drug test
Possess a valid California Driver's license and provide a current driving record issued by the DMV
Provide proof of current car insurance
Provide High School Diploma and/or other qualifying certificates
Minimum: 2 years in-field and/or Residential experience
Availability needed: All week
Required: DSP 1 & 2 certification
