    POSITION OVERVIEW
    As a Senior Industrial Hygienist your roles and responsibilities will include:
    The client is seeking an experienced Senior Industrial Hygienist to lead and continuously improve its Industrial Hygiene (IH) program across two manufacturing facilities in Oregon. This position is part of the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Management team and reports to the Senior Director of EHS for the Specialty Alloys & Components business unit. The role offers opportunities for growth into senior EHS leadership positions.
    Key Responsibilities
    • Lead and manage the Industrial Hygiene program for two manufacturing facilities, including exposure monitoring, hazard assessment, risk evaluation, and implementation of effective control measures.
    • Supervise and mentor the Industrial Hygiene team, oversee consultants as needed, and manage the department's budget, equipment, calibrations, and resources.
    • Develop and implement a long-term vision for the Industrial Hygiene program in collaboration with EHS leadership.
    • Conduct advanced industrial hygiene assessments using scientific methods to identify workplace health hazards and recommend engineering, administrative, and personal protective controls.
    • Serve as the Radiation Safety Officer (RSO), overseeing radiation safety compliance, regulatory licenses, Radiation Safety Committee meetings, and coordination with regulatory agencies.
    • Collaborate with the Facility Security Officer on radiation security requirements.
    • Co-chair safety program teams by conducting audits, improving safety standards, and mentoring auditors.
    • Co-lead the corporate Safety Data Sheet (SDS) authoring team, ensuring compliance with GHS regulations and maintaining accurate toxicological information.
    • Manage the monthly EHS awareness training program by developing, coordinating, editing, and distributing training materials across the business.
    • Provide Industrial Hygiene expertise and consultation to EHS professionals throughout client.
    QUALIFICATIONS
    Most importantly, you need to be a passionate Senior Industrial Hygienist who enjoys his work and is considered to be one of the best within your organization. The ideal Senior Industrial Hygienist would be someone with deep experience in many (if not all) of the following:
    Required Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
    • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification is required.
    • Minimum 10 years of Industrial Hygiene or EHS experience.
    • Experience working in a manufacturing environment; metals or materials manufacturing experience is preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of:
      • Industrial Hygiene monitoring and exposure assessment
      • Asbestos management
      • Silica exposure management
      • Hearing conservation programs
      • Respiratory protection programs
      • Particulate monitoring (PM2.5 and PM10)
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
    • Ability to travel occasionally.
    • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Master's degree in Industrial Hygiene or a related discipline.
    • Experience in metals, specialty alloys, aerospace, steel, or other heavy manufacturing industries.
    • Previous experience managing Radiation Safety programs.
    • Experience with SDS authoring, GHS compliance, and EHS training program development.
    • Leadership experience managing Industrial Hygiene professionals and cross-functional EHS initiatives.
