Senior Information Security Specialist I

Global Service Resources is looking for a contractor in Los Angeles.

Job Title: Senior Information Security Specialist I
Location: Downey, CA 90242 (Hybrid)
Assignment type: Temporary (12 months w/ high chance of extension or hire)
Pay rate: $70-$75/hour

Responsibilities:

• Lead planning, deployment, and support of endpoint security platforms
• Manage full lifecycle: engagement? install? optimization? support
• Configure, implement, and troubleshoot security solutions
• Deploy software remotely/on-site; create scripts and processes
• Monitor/report deployment status and resolve enterprise-scale issues
• Collaborate with IT teams; support vulnerability & asset management
• Integrate security tools into existing environments

Qualifications:

• Experience with CVEs, remediation, and vulnerability tools (e.g., Nessus, Qualys)
• Strong knowledge of Windows, Linux, Mac systems
• Scripting: PowerShell, Python, Bash, etc.
• Deployment tools: SCCM, Group Policy, BigFix, Puppet, etc.
• Solid security, networking, and IT infrastructure knowledge
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer support skills
• Experience: 4+ years in IT deployments/end-user environments
• Education/Certs: Bachelor’s + CISSP, Security+, or CEH
• 6+ years cloud network engineering (AWS/Azure)
• 4+ years high-availability architecture & disaster recovery
• 4+ years advanced cloud networking (Transit Gateway, etc.)
• 4+ years Megaport/private cloud connectivity
• 4+ years traffic engineering & network security

Additional Skills and Experience:

• Design/manage AWS & Azure network infrastructure
• Build high-availability, multi-region architectures
• Implement hybrid connectivity (Transit Gateway, ExpressRoute)
• Use Megaport (VXC provisioning, private connectivity)
• Optimize traffic routing, ingress/egress, performance
• Deploy load balancers (AWS ELB, Azure LB/App Gateway)
• Manage virtual firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco)
• Configure NSGs, Security Groups, ACLs
• Implement VPC/VNet peering & multi-cloud designs
• Advanced BGP configuration and hybrid networking
• Apply cloud security best practices & compliance
• Preferred Certifications:  AWS Advanced Networking – Specialty, AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Network Engineer Associate
