Senior Infrastructure / DevOps Engineer AWS & GCP
Location: Remote / Hartford, CT (Hybrid)
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure / DevOps Engineer to design, automate, and operate secure cloud environments across Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and AWS.
This role will focus heavily on Infrastructure-as-Code, Terraform, CI/CD, cloud security, monitoring, and environment automation. You will also provision and support the cloud infrastructure required for AI/RAG and knowledge pipelines, including document stores, vector/search indexes, indexing jobs, schedulers, and related services.
This is primarily a DevOps / Platform Engineering position. You will not be responsible for developing conversational AI applications or building the underlying RAG/retrieval logic.
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform across GCP and AWS.
Automate provisioning of cloud environments, networking, service enablement, IAM permissions, secrets, and baseline logging.
Build reusable infrastructure modules to enable consistent and repeatable customer environment deployments.
Provision and operate infrastructure supporting RAG and knowledge pipelines, including:
Document and knowledge stores
Vector databases/search indexes
Embedding and indexing jobs
Schedulers and automated refresh processes
Secrets and supporting cloud services
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for deploying application artifacts, customer-specific configurations, and knowledge-index refresh jobs.
Manage the complete environment lifecycle, including environment creation, updates, backups/snapshots, and teardown.
Implement production-ready monitoring, logging, dashboards, and alerting.
Monitor infrastructure and pipeline failures and support operational troubleshooting.
Implement cloud security practices including IAM, secrets management, private networking, and audit logging.
Partner with architects and engineering teams to translate solution designs into reusable and scalable infrastructure.
Implement cloud cost controls using budgets, tagging/labeling standards, and idle-environment policies.
Support production readiness, go-live activities, and operational handoffs.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, Cloud Infrastructure, or Platform Engineering.
Strong hands-on experience with Terraform in production environments.
Hands-on experience working with both AWS and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Strong experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with cloud networking, IAM, secrets management, logging, monitoring, and security controls.
Experience building reusable infrastructure modules and automated environment provisioning.
Understanding of production cloud operations, reliability, security, and environment lifecycle management.
Strong troubleshooting and collaboration skills.
Preferred Experience
Experience provisioning infrastructure for AI, GenAI, RAG, or knowledge-management workloads.
Exposure to vector databases, vector/search indexes, embedding pipelines, Vertex AI, or Amazon Bedrock.
Experience deploying or supporting contact-center or conversational AI platforms.
Experience with tools/services such as Google Cloud Build, AWS CodePipeline, AWS CDK, Vertex AI, Bedrock, or equivalent cloud-native services.
Experience with cloud landing zones and enterprise platform engineering.
Google Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer, AWS DevOps Engineer, AWS SysOps, or similar cloud certifications.
