Laboratory Testing & Diagnostics | Mid-Senior Level | Remote (US)
We are seeking a skilled Senior Infrastructure Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable, and highly available infrastructure supporting healthcare and laboratory technology platforms. This role will partner closely with engineering, operations, security, and application teams to ensure reliable system performance across cloud and hybrid environments in a regulated healthcare setting.

Design, deploy, and maintain cloud and hybrid infrastructure environments across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Support critical healthcare and laboratory applications, integration platforms, and operational systems with a focus on reliability, scalability, and security.
Manage infrastructure across cloud services, on-premises servers, storage systems, networking, and edge computing environments.
Implement infrastructure-as-code (IaC) practices using tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation.
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure automation and application deployments.
Monitor system health, availability, and performance using observability and monitoring platforms.
Troubleshoot infrastructure incidents, perform root cause analysis, and participate in on-call support rotations.
Design and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity solutions to meet uptime and recovery objectives.
Implement security best practices including IAM, network segmentation, encryption, secrets management, endpoint hardening, and audit logging.
Collaborate with security and compliance teams to support HIPAA, SOC 2, and other regulated environment requirements.
Support healthcare interoperability and integration workflows including APIs, HL7/FHIR interfaces, and secure data exchange.
Manage containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes platforms.
Optimize infrastructure cost, scalability, and operational efficiency through automation and governance best practices.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to infrastructure standards, documentation, and operational processes.
5 8 years of experience in Infrastructure Engineering, Cloud Engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
Strong hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS preferred, Azure or GCP acceptable).
Experience managing production infrastructure in highly available, regulated, or mission-critical environments.
Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
Strong Linux systems administration and networking fundamentals.
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tooling.
Understanding of cloud networking, VPNs, load balancers, DNS, firewalls, and secure connectivity patterns.
Experience implementing security and compliance controls in regulated environments.
Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
Cloud or infrastructure certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Kubernetes certifications, or equivalent.
Experience in healthcare, diagnostics, biotech, or other regulated industries.
Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7/FHIR.
Experience supporting laboratory systems, healthcare applications, or integration platforms.
Knowledge of monitoring and observability platforms such as Datadog, Prometheus/Grafana, or CloudWatch.
Experience with GitOps workflows and deployment orchestration tools.
Familiarity with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MSSQL, or similar technologies.
