Job Summary

The Nevada Department of Corrections is hiring for a Senior Institutional Dentist in Lovelock, Las Vegas, Carson City, or Ely. Under the administrative direction of the Medical Director, for the Nevada Department of Corrections (NDOC) the incumbents for the position are responsible for establishing and administering a comprehensive institutional dental health program, including the clinical performance of professional activities in the administration of individual treatment to dental problems of the institute's offender population. Maintain scheduled clinic hours to provide care to offenders consistent with the hours of operation for the institution. Provide emergency services as needed. Cooperate with the Deputy Attorney General's office. Adherence to ethical principles and sensitivity to a diverse patient population by demonstrating respect, compassion, and integrity to the needs of offender population. Participate in the on-call schedule.

Essential Qualifications

A valid license to practice dentistry from the Nevada State Board of Dental Examiners and either: 1) certification as a diplomat by the American Board of Periodontology or Endodontics; or 2) a fellowship or mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD); or 3) three years of professional dentistry experience in a correctional or comparable setting.
