Job Details
We are seeking an experienced attorney to join our litigation team, focusing on complex insurance-related disputes and coverage matters. In this role, we handle sophisticated claims, provide strategic advice to insurance industry clients, and litigate challenging disputes through all phases of the case lifecycle. We are looking for someone who enjoys analyzing complicated legal issues, managing substantial case responsibilities, and working directly with clients on high-stakes matters. The ideal candidate brings strong litigation skills, sound judgment, and the ability to independently manage a busy and complex caseload while collaborating effectively with colleagues.
Responsibilities
Manage complex insurance coverage and related litigation matters from inception through resolution
Analyze coverage issues and provide strategic legal guidance to clients
Handle all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, depositions, hearings, mediation, and trial preparation
Draft coverage opinions, legal memoranda, motions, briefs, and client communications
Develop case strategy and risk assessments for high-exposure matters
Conduct legal research and analysis involving complex factual and legal issues
Communicate directly with clients regarding litigation strategy, case developments, and legal recommendations
Collaborate with attorneys and support professionals to effectively manage matters and deliver high-quality work product
Manage multiple active matters while maintaining strong attention to detail and responsiveness
Qualifications
Significant experience handling insurance coverage matters and related litigation
Strong understanding of complex claim evaluation and dispute resolution
Demonstrated experience managing sophisticated litigation matters with substantial responsibility
Excellent legal research, analytical, and writing abilities
Strong oral advocacy, communication, and client relationship skills
Experience handling depositions, motion practice, and case strategy development
Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines
Requirements
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Active license and good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
Approximately 8+ years of litigation experience
Experience advising clients on insurance-related disputes, coverage issues, or comparable complex commercial matters
Proven ability to independently manage a sophisticated caseload
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
