Job Description:

Position Summary

Seeking experienced Senior Auditors on behalf of a client in the global banking industry to support a Canadian Business Process ICFR (Internal Control over Financial Reporting) testing program. This engagement will focus on the execution of SOX controls testing activities, including walkthroughs, documentation review, design effectiveness assessments, and operating effectiveness testing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in audit, internal controls, and financial reporting environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute business process ICFR/SOX testing activities in accordance with established methodologies and project timelines.
  • Perform requests for information (RFIs) and obtain supporting documentation from control owners.
  • Conduct process walkthroughs to gain an understanding of key business processes and controls.
  • Assess the design effectiveness of internal controls and identify potential control deficiencies.
  • Perform operating effectiveness testing and document testing results.
  • Prepare clear, accurate, and organized audit workpapers.
  • Communicate testing status, observations, and findings to engagement leadership.
  • Collaborate with client stakeholders to address testing questions and documentation requests.
  • Support timely completion of the overall ICFR testing program.

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of experience in internal audit, external audit, SOX compliance, ICFR testing, or a related audit function.
  • Experience performing control walkthroughs, design effectiveness assessments, and operating effectiveness testing.
  • Understanding of internal control frameworks and financial reporting processes.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within the banking, financial services, or global banking sectors.
  • Previous experience supporting large financial institutions.
  • Professional certification such as CPA, CIA, CISA, or equivalent is preferred but not required.

Engagement Details

  • Contract engagement anticipated to run from August through November, with potential for earlier start dates.
