- Provide administrative assistance to a diverse international student, scholar and employee population of nearly 12,000.
- Evaluate client's needs and refer them to most appropriate ISSO staff member.
- Advise clients on basic immigration and university procedures and perform some preliminary immigration processing.
- Perform front line reception duties including scheduling appointments, answering the main telephone line and triaging walk-in inquiries.
- Process international admission paperwork review, data entry and document issuance.
- Provide administrative assistance to administrative team members.
Essential Functions
- Prepare and process various immigration and university documents such as on-campus work permission, certificates of attendance, travel signatures, and immigration documents. (20%)
- Evaluate initial client inquiries and advise international students, scholars and employees on immigration and university policies and procedures. (20%)
- Perform daily administrative functions such as sorting, opening and responding to all types of office correspondence, word processing and scheduling meetings and appointments. (20%)
- Complete data entry for admission processing, semester verification and new student check-in. (20%)
- Process international admission paperwork review, data entry and document issuance. (10%)
- Perform front line reception duties including scheduling appointments, answer telephone and walk-in inquiries from a diverse, international student, scholar and employee population. (10%)
Required Skills
Required Qualifications:
- Two years of college or equivalent, bachelor's degree preferred.
- Familiarity with computer hardware and software including Microsoft Office and similar application software.
- Foreign language ability and proven intercultural sensitivity preferred •Strong organizational, administrative and problem-solving skills.
- Exemplary written and oral communication skills.
- 1-3 years of professional experience in international education or closely related field.
