Responsibilities
The Senior IT Analyst is a multi-incumbent position that acts as a team leader within the Client Support team. This position is responsible for determining desktop hardware specifications and making recommendations for running applications designed by and/or purchased by the City of Dayton for individual departments. The incumbent will be included in the review and selection of software and determining hardware specifications necessary for implementation. The incumbent makes modifications to desktop systems as dictated by changing user needs and keeps the total system in sound operating condition by investigating the impact proposed changes will have on the system as a whole. Implement solutions that align with the organization''s business objectives, including assisting in system scope and objectives, analyzing business and user requirements for complex projects, and managing requirements throughout each project. Senior IT Analysts must maintain a good relationship with customers and vendors while maintaining lines of communication with management and operating personnel throughout their work.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science or related field AND 5 years of experience in computer operations or in providing technical computer support;
ORÂ
Associate''s degree in Computer Science or related field ANDÂ 6 years of experience in computer operations or in providing technical computer support;Â
OR
High school diploma (or G.E.D.)Â AND 7 years of experience in computer operations or in providing technical computer support.Â
Degree must be from a college or university that is accredited by the U.S. Department of Education through the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools Higher Learning Commission or equivalent region.
License Requirements
Must possess a valid driverâs license at time of appointment and maintain thereafter as a term and condition of continued employment.
Special Requirements
Must possess a minimum of ONE of the listed certifications below or closely related/comparable certification at time of appointment:
Microsoft 365 Certified
Microsoft Technology AssociateÂ
Modern Desktop Administrator AssociateÂ
Endpoint Administrator AssociateÂ
CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+Â
HDI Desktop Advance Support TechnicianÂ
ITIL FoundationsÂ
Applicants with these certifications are preferred, as they directly align with the roleâs technical requirements. However, applicants with other relevant industryârecognized technical certifications will also be considered, provided they demonstrate equivalent knowledge and experience.

Background CheckÂ
A background investigation and evidence of Employment Authorization and Identity is required prior to employment. All candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position, including current city employees seeking transfer, promotion, demotion, etc. into a classified position.Â
Medical Examination & Drug and Nicotine TestingÂ
Final appointment is contingent upon the applicant passing a job-related medical examination including drug screen. Applicants offered employment with the City will be required to pass a nicotine screening. Newly hired employees must remain tobacco and nicotine free as a condition of continued employment. The Tobacco and Nicotine Free Hiring Policy does not apply to current City employees.
