Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Senior IT Asset Management Specialist for a CONTRACT assignment with one of our premier Higher Education clients in Adelphi, MD. Hybrid: 1–2 days onsite per week.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the full lifecycle of IT assets including hardware, software, and related services from procurement through disposal
  • Maintain and update asset records within ServiceNow and CMDB, ensuring data accuracy and integrity
  • Track and reconcile hardware and software inventory across multiple systems and data sources
  • Support software license management including entitlement tracking and basic compliance monitoring
  • Partner with IT Operations, Procurement, and Service Desk teams to ensure proper asset governance and processes
  • Generate reports and dashboards related to asset inventory, utilization, and lifecycle status
  • Assist with audits, asset validations, and internal compliance activities
  • Support process improvements and automation efforts within ITAM tools and workflows
Required Skills:
  • 3–6+ years of experience in IT Asset Management (hardware and software)
  • Hands-on experience with ServiceNow ITSM/ITAM and CMDB management
  • Strong understanding of asset lifecycle processes and inventory management
  • Experience with data reconciliation, reporting, and asset tracking (Excel proficiency required)
  • Familiarity with software licensing concepts and compliance basics
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with ServiceNow HAM Pro or SAM Pro
  • Exposure to SCCM, Intune, or other asset discovery tools
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes or ITIL certification
  • Experience supporting audits or working in regulated environments
  • Prior experience in higher education or similar environments
