Senior IT Engineer

Overview

Client is seeking a Senior IT Engineer to architect, deploy, and support IT and operational technology solutions for a mission-critical semiconductor manufacturing site in Richardson, Texas. This role requires proven, hands-on Kubernetes experience supporting real production environments, along with strong Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, VMware, and enterprise infrastructure expertise.

Core Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and support physical and virtual server infrastructure in a mission-critical manufacturing environment.
• Implement, administer, and expand Kubernetes container environments supporting production applications.
• Provide operational support for Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux server ecosystems.
• Support VMware virtualization technologies, including vSphere, vSAN, VCF, and NSX.
• Support hyper-converged infrastructure platforms such as Dell VxRail.
• Troubleshoot performance issues affecting physical servers, virtual servers, containers, and infrastructure workloads.
• Implement new infrastructure technology stacks and migrate workloads from physical servers to virtualized environments.
• Develop and support server automation and infrastructure-as-code solutions.
• Work with semiconductor process and equipment vendors to improve infrastructure performance, availability, and fault tolerance.
• Participate in technical meetings with site, manufacturing, security, and corporate IT teams.
• Support IT and OT infrastructure in accordance with corporate and semiconductor cybersecurity standards.
• Maintain documentation for infrastructure environments, system configurations, and automation scripts.
• Support backup, disaster recovery, and technology resilience strategies and processes.

Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Technologies

• Bachelor's degree.
• 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise server ecosystems.
• 5+ years of experience with Windows Server operating systems and RHEL Linux 5 9.X.
• 3+ years of experience with ServiceNow or a similar formal service management platform or methodology.
• 3+ years of experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware, vSphere, vSAN, VCF, or NSX.
• 1+ years of experience with Docker and Kubernetes container orchestration.
• Proven, hands-on experience implementing and managing Kubernetes in production environments.
• Experience with server automation, infrastructure as code, or scripting using Tanium, Chef, JSON, PowerShell, Ruby, or similar technologies.
• Knowledge of network fundamentals, including firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, subnetting, IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, NAT, routing, and switching.
• Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and technology resilience processes.
• Ability to document infrastructure, automation scripts, and system configurations.

Preferred Skills or Experience

• Advanced degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with Dell VxRail or similar hyper-converged infrastructure.
• Experience with Tanium, Windows patching, operating system hardening, and Windows security standards.
• Experience supporting the software development lifecycle, including requirements, design, coding, testing, and production support.
• Experience supporting Cisco Nexus or Catalyst switches.
• Experience with Rubrik or similar data recovery platforms.
• Experience supporting IT/OT environments, network segmentation, equipment integration, automation, or manufacturing execution systems.
• Understanding of SCADA, industrial network architectures, and manufacturing-focused Windows servers and workstations.
• Experience supporting semiconductor or other advanced manufacturing environments.

Work Details

• Onsite in Richardson, Texas, with some remote work allowed.
