Overview
LABUR is partnering with a client to bring on a Senior IT Project Manager for a key platform modernization effort. This role centers on project governance, executive communication, and stakeholder alignment rather than day-to-day project execution. The team is deep in delivery and needs a seasoned project leader to bring structure, manage dependencies, and ensure leadership has clear visibility into project progress.
Responsibilities
- Chair monthly Steering Committee (SteerCo) meetings, aligning stakeholders and driving accountability across workstreams
- Deliver clear, concise project status updates to executive leadership on a regular cadence
- Identify and manage cross-functional dependencies between business stakeholders to prevent bottlenecks
- Facilitate communication with business teams around Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and project deliverables
- Bring structure and organization to ongoing project efforts, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks
- Proactively identify and mitigate project risks before they impact timelines or deliverables
Qualifications
- 7+ years of IT project management experience, with a track record of leading key initiatives
- Superb communication skills with the ability to regularly present to and engage with executive stakeholders
- Strong executive presence - proactive, takes initiative, speaks up, and drives outcomes
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional dependencies and keep multiple workstreams aligned
- Proficiency with project management tools such as MS Project, Jira, or Smartsheet
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field
- PMP or similar certification preferred
Compensation
$85-$90/hr - Dependent on fit and experience
