Position Summary
  • The Client is seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to lead and coordinate a portfolio of technical and infrastructure-focused initiatives.
  • This position will manage complex technology projects involving infrastructure modernization, software platform upgrades, system integrations, cloud services, and application delivery.
  • The ideal candidate will possess strong project management expertise combined with a solid technical foundation, enabling effective collaboration with solution architects, application developers, infrastructure engineers, database administrators, security teams, vendors, and executive stakeholders.
  • Candidates with experience managing infrastructure projects, system migrations, software upgrades, enterprise technology initiatives, and cloud transformation projects will be especially successful in this role.
  • Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead multiple concurrent IT projects through the full project lifecycle, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
  • Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, risks, issues, dependencies, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate cross-functional technical teams, including infrastructure, application development, database administration, cloud engineering, cybersecurity, and vendor resources.
  • Facilitate project governance activities, including executive status reporting, steering committee meetings, and stakeholder communications.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including:
  • Project Charters
  • Project Schedules
  • RAID Logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, and Dependencies)
  • Work Plans
  • Meeting Minutes
  • Executive Status Reports
  • Collaborate with technical leads and solution architects to assess project impacts, implementation risks, technical dependencies, and deployment strategies.
  • Manage vendor and contractor activities to ensure project deliverables meet quality standards, timelines, and business objectives.
  • Support enterprise technology modernization initiatives and infrastructure lifecycle management.
  • Ensure compliance with agency governance standards, project management methodologies, and strategic technology objectives.

  • Windows Server, SQL Server, and .NET platform upgrades

  • Enterprise software implementation and technology transformation projects
Required skills:
  • IT Project Management experience
  • Experience managing technical or infrastructure-focused projects
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Strong risk management, issue management, and stakeholder management skills
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies (PMI, Agile, Hybrid).
  • Experience managing infrastructure upgrades, migrations, or modernization initiatives
  • Working knowledge of Windows Server environments, databases, cloud platforms, networking, or enterprise applications
  • Experience coordinating with architects, engineers, and software development teams
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps, Planner, Jira, or similar tools.
  • Public sector or government experience'
  • PMP certification preferred
