Senior IT Project Manager
Contract (6 Months + Possible extension)
New York, NY (Hybrid)


Pay Rate: $70-75 an hour on W2 (DOE)

We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to lead and deliver enterprise-wide technology projects. This role is responsible for managing projects from initiation through completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate is a proactive, hands-on professional who can independently drive projects, manage stakeholders, and navigate complex global environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Governance

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and success metrics.
  • Define project objectives and ensure alignment with business goals and stakeholder expectations.

Project Execution & Delivery

  • Lead cross-functional teams to successfully execute project activities and deliver project outcomes.
  • Monitor project progress, identify roadblocks, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to established project management methodologies and best practices.

Risk & Issue Management

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks.
  • Proactively manage project issues and dependencies to minimize impact on delivery timelines and budgets.

Stakeholder Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with project sponsors, business stakeholders, and delivery teams.
  • Facilitate effective collaboration across global teams and functions.
  • Provide regular project updates to senior leadership and executive stakeholders.

Resource & Quality Management

  • Manage project resources effectively to optimize performance and productivity.
  • Ensure all project deliverables meet defined quality standards and business requirements.

Change Management

  • Manage project scope, schedule, and budget changes through established governance processes.
  • Ensure changes are properly documented, reviewed, and approved.

Project Closure

  • Lead project closure activities, including documentation, lessons learned, and transition to support teams.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5–10 years of experience in IT Project Management.
  • Proven experience managing projects through the full project lifecycle.
  • Experience working with global teams and stakeholders across North America (NA), EMEA, and LATAM regions.
  • Strong understanding of both Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies.
  • Experience using project portfolio and project management tools, preferably Planview.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all organizational levels, including executive leadership.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly ramp up and take ownership of project delivery.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing Finance Systems projects.
  • Knowledge of Oracle E-Business Suite (Oracle EBS) and/or SAP environments.
  • PMP certification is a plus but not required.
  • Experience presenting to and working with C-level executives.
  • Experience delivering projects within multinational organizations.
