Senior IT Project Manager

Location: New York, NY
Schedule: Hybrid (3 days onsite (Wednesday is the anchor day), 2 days remote)
Employment Type: Contract
Duration: Initial 6-Month Assignment

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to lead and deliver enterprise-level technology initiatives across a global organization. This role is responsible for managing the full project lifecycle, including planning, execution, risk management, stakeholder communication, resource coordination, and project delivery. The ideal candidate is a proactive, hands-on project leader who can operate independently, engage with executive stakeholders, and successfully manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

This position offers the opportunity to support strategic technology and financial systems initiatives while collaborating with cross-functional teams across North America, EMEA, and LATAM regions.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Delivery

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, budgets, resources, and deliverables.
  • Manage projects through the full project lifecycle from initiation and planning through execution, implementation, and closure.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and aligned with quality standards and business objectives.
  • Track project milestones, dependencies, risks, and deliverables while maintaining overall project governance.

Stakeholder & Communication Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, leadership teams, and business partners.
  • Communicate project status, risks, issues, and key decisions to stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership.
  • Facilitate project meetings, workshops, and status reviews while driving accountability across project teams.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders.

Risk & Change Management

  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impacts to scope, budget, and timelines.
  • Manage project changes, ensuring scope modifications, schedule updates, and budget adjustments are documented and approved appropriately.
  • Escalate project concerns and recommend solutions to maintain project success.

Resource & Quality Management

  • Coordinate internal and external resources to support project execution.
  • Ensure project deliverables meet established quality standards and organizational requirements.
  • Monitor project performance and resource utilization to optimize efficiency and productivity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 5–10 years of IT Project Management experience.
  • Proven experience managing projects through the full project lifecycle.
  • Experience working in global environments supporting teams across multiple regions.
  • Strong understanding of project governance, budgeting, scheduling, and stakeholder management.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and project priorities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and quickly ramp up into new environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Finance or Financial Systems projects.
  • Knowledge of Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS), SAP, or similar enterprise financial platforms.
  • Experience with both Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies.
  • Familiarity with project portfolio and planning tools such as Planview.
  • PMP certification preferred but not required.
  • Experience interacting with executive and C-level stakeholders.
