Position Title: Senior Java Application Developer
Location: Remote
Pay Rate: $65/hr on W2
Overview:
The role requires deep expertise in Java/J2EE development, including building APIs and microservices using REST/SOAP, along with strong proficiency in XML, OpenAPI, Maven, ANT, and modern frameworks.
Candidates must have advanced knowledge of data structures, algorithms, CI/CD pipelines, Git-based version control, and web technologies, with hands-on experience in testing, debugging, and performance optimization across scalable distributed systems.
Preferred skills include experience with WebSphere deployments, automation tools (e.g., Ansible), and familiarity with mainframe technologies such as COBOL, CICS, and z/OS, as well as exposure to financial services application development.
Description:
Design, develop, and enhance complex software applications supporting a mission critical, time sensitive initiative focused on enhancing applications that integrate distributed applications with Navy Federal Credit Union's Core Banking platform.
Serve as a senior technical contributor responsible for translating business and platform requirements into secure, scalable, and reliable solutions across the full software development lifecycle.
Operate with minimal supervision while exercising strong technical judgment.
Collaborate with Core Banking, testing, middleware, and platform teams to manage dependencies, mitigate risk, and meet aggressive delivery timelines.
