Insight Global is seeking a Senior Java Full Stack Developer to support and modernize a long standing broker and commission calculation platform (~22 years old). This role will serve as a backfill on a highly visible system and will focus on both ongoing enhancements and cloud modernization initiatives within Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
The ideal candidate is a strong senior level engineer who can adapt quickly to shifting priorities, work across legacy and modern technologies, and contribute to large scale data processing solutions.Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain backend services using Java (7/8, migrating to Java 21) and Spring Boot
• Build and enhance API driven applications with a small focus on microservices
• Work within GCP to:
o Load data from on prem systems into GCP
o Process large scale data workloads
o Return processed data to downstream systems
• Develop and maintain PySpark rules (100+ existing rules) used for commission processing
• Collaborate on frontend development using React (Angular experience acceptable with willingness to learn React)
• Maintain and enhance integrations using SOAP services (REST experience required; SOAP can be learned)
• Work with DB2 databases hosted on Linux servers
• Use DevOps and Agile tools (Jira, CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions or similar)
• Adapt quickly to sprint to sprint changes in priorities and workload

Required Skills & Experience
• 5+ years of experience as a Java Developer (senior level)
• Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot
• Hands on experience with cloud (GCP if not Azure or AWS)
o Knowledge of BigQuery, Spark, and large scale batch processing
o Familiarity with DAG based workflows and data orchestration
• Experience with Python and PySpark for data processing
• Strong API development experience (REST required)
• Frontend experience with React or Angular
• Experience working with relational databases (DB2 preferred)
• Exposure to AI assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot or similar)
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Conceptual understanding of machine learning
