Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Application Programmer III to join our Financial Crimes technology team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Java, Spring Boot, RESTful services, SQL, and CI/CD practices and a proven ability to design, develop, and maintain enterprise web applications that meet complex business requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, debug, and document Java-based web applications and APIs.
  • Collaborate with business partners to refine stories, define requirements, and estimate delivery work.
  • Participate in the full development lifecycle, including proof of concepts to mitigate technical risk.
  • Set up and automate CI/CD pipelines using standard enterprise tools and practices.
  • Partner with Production Support, Platform, and Business teams on change management, maintenance, and platform upgrades.
  • Analyze present-state and propose future-state technical approaches that align to business goals.
  • Ensure adherence to Agile practices and enterprise change standards.
  • Provide data-driven insights and assess technology impacts across integrated systems.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Advanced proficiency in Java 11+ and web application development with Spring Boot 3.x and Spring 6.x.
  • Strong experience building RESTful APIs and microservices.
  • Expertise in Spring Core, Dependency Injection, annotations, configurations, and Spring Security.
  • Hands-on with JPA, Hibernate, Spring JDBC, and SQL performance tuning.
  • Unit testing with JUnit and Mockito and practice of Test-Driven Development.
  • Experience with Node.js for complementary services or tooling.
  • Application servers and web containers: Tomcat 9+, Apache 2.4.x, JBoss.
  • Database expertise with Oracle 19c and strong SQL and data analysis skills.
  • Build and dependency management with Maven 3.x.
  • Scheduling tools experience with Autosys or similar schedulers.
  • Unix shell scripting for automation and operations support.
  • Proven Agile delivery experience and collaboration across technical and business teams.
  • Toolchain knowledge: Jira, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Artifactory, Ansible, and CI/CD practices.
  • Typically 10+ years of relevant software development experience.

Preferred Skills:

  • Domain knowledge in Anti-Money Laundering and Financial Crimes.
  • Experience with performance tuning of Java applications and SQL at scale.

Education:

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a quantitative discipline.
  • Degree from an accredited university.
