Senior Java/GCP Developer, Pricing Application
Position Overview
We are seeking a senior, hands-on Java/GCP Developer to take ownership of a newly modernized pricing application and support a growing backlog of production issues, technical debt, and application enhancements.
This is not an architecture-only or oversight position. The selected consultant will be actively developing, troubleshooting defects, updating application logic, deploying code, and supporting the application in production. The ideal candidate can independently learn a complex application, investigate issues, and begin executing against an established backlog with minimal direction.

Senior Java/GCP Developer, Pricing Application
Position Overview
We are seeking a senior, hands-on Java/GCP Developer to take ownership of a newly modernized pricing application and support a growing backlog of production issues, technical debt, and application enhancements.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance a cloud-native pricing application built on Google Cloud Platform
- Execute against a growing backlog of application enhancements, defects, and technical debt
- Design, develop, and maintain Java and Spring Boot services
- Build and support microservices and REST APIs
- Troubleshoot production issues and perform root-cause analysis
- Resolve complex defects, update business logic, and optimize application performance
- Support code releases and deployments into production
- Work with SQL-based databases, including PostgreSQL and AlloyDB
- Build and deploy containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, and GKE
- Participate in CI/CD and release-management activities
- Collaborate with application, architecture, DevOps, business analysis, and external delivery teams
- Quickly develop an understanding of the application's pricing rules, integrations, and transaction flows
- Communicate clearly when coordinating dependencies, resolving issues, and requesting technical clarification
- Senior-level experience with Java and Spring Boot
- Strong hands-on backend application development experience
- Demonstrated experience developing cloud-native applications in GCP
- GCP experience is required
- Experience with microservices and REST API development
- Strong SQL skills and experience with PostgreSQL or AlloyDB
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and GKE
- Experience with Git, CI/CD, deployments, and production releases
- Strong production support and application troubleshooting experience
- Experience conducting root-cause analysis and resolving complex defects
- Ability to independently understand an existing application and execute development work
- Experience working within a complex, cross-functional delivery environment
- Experience with Apigee
- Experience integrating applications with Salesforce
- Experience with GCP services such as Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Workflows, or Vertex AI
- Databricks deployment experience
- Experience with JDE or other ERP systems
- Experience supporting pricing, transaction-processing, or rules-based applications
- Experience working with third-party implementation partners or managed service providers
