Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Application Programmer III to join our team supporting multi-asset risk and pricing platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Core Java, system design, distributed computing, and performance tuning and a proven ability to deliver scalable features, optimize applications, and support complex financial systems.

Responsibilities:

• Design massively parallel distributed systems using compute grids.
• Write and modify code across multiple Java applications.
• Upgrade major Java versions and manage related dependencies.
• Perform performance tuning and debugging of existing applications.
• Implement new features based on business requirements for risk and pricing workflows.
• Develop SQL for data access, transformation, and reporting.
• Provide L3 support as needed for production systems.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Core Java development, JVM fundamentals, and performance profiling.
• System design for distributed, high-throughput, low-latency platforms.
• Proficiency in RDBMS and SQL; data management and analysis capability.
• Application development experience in Java or Python; Quartz experience is a plus.
• Experience upgrading Java versions and optimizing JVM settings.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to work across management levels.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines.
• Experience participating in large or complex projects and engaging cross-functional teams.
• Financial products experience required; risk knowledge is a plus.
• Minimum 5-8 years of progressive experience in the banking industry.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with compute grids and massively parallel processing in financial services.
• Background in multi-asset risk and pricing platforms.
