Our direct client is seeking a senior-level Jira and Agile Transformation Consultant to provide short-term advisory support for an IT Project Management Office (PMO) undergoing an Agile transformation. This role will help establish Jira best practices, optimize project workflows, and provide practical guidance to project managers, product owners, and scrum masters as the organization transitions from traditional waterfall methods to a hybrid Agile approach.
Key Accountabilities:
Advise on Jira configuration, setup, and governance best practices.
Evaluate current project management processes and recommend Jira workflows that support both Agile and traditional project delivery.
Provide hands-on coaching and practical guidance to project managers, product owners, and scrum masters.
Share real-world Agile implementation strategies, lessons learned, and "tricks of the trade. "
Assist with developing dashboards, reporting, backlog management, and sprint planning processes.
Recommend approaches for managing hybrid projects that include software development, infrastructure, and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) implementations.
Support the PMO in establishing sustainable Jira practices that can be maintained after the engagement ends.
Required Skills:
Extensive experience implementing and administering Jira in enterprise environments.
Strong background in Agile, Scrum, and hybrid project management methodologies.
Experience advising PMOs and project management teams during Agile transformations.
Ability to provide strategic guidance while also delivering hands-on, practical solutions.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting utilities, government agencies, or highly regulated organizations.
Familiarity with Microsoft Project and large-scale enterprise project planning.
Experience leading or supporting Agile transformations in complex environments with mixed project types.
