This position will lead the design, deployment, integration, and support of SD-WAN solutions across MPLS, Internet, broadband, LTE/5G, and hybrid network environments. The ideal candidate is a senior technical leader who can define SD-WAN strategy, optimize routing and segmentation, improve resiliency and application performance, and guide engineering teams through implementation, migration, and operational support activities. Key Responsibilities
  • Design and define Cisco SD-WAN solutions for enterprise and mission-critical environments
  • Develop SD-WAN architectures supporting MPLS, Internet, broadband, LTE/5G, private-line, and hybrid WAN transport models
  • Configure and support Cisco SD-WAN platforms including vManage, vBond, vSmart, and WAN Edge routers
  • Create and maintain policies for application-aware routing, traffic steering, segmentation, SLA-based path selection, failover, and resiliency
  • Lead SD-WAN migrations from legacy WAN architectures
  • Design and support WAN environments utilizing MPLS, carrier Ethernet, Internet, broadband, and private fiber services
  • Provide expertise in BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, EIGRP, route redistribution, filtering, and policy-based routing
  • Define WAN-to-LAN integration, including firewall connectivity, segmentation, VLANs, VRFs, and routed handoffs
  • Support fiber-based WAN services, carrier handoffs, optics, demarcation points, and physical connectivity validation
  • Design highly available WAN architectures incorporating redundant circuits, carriers, SD-WAN edge devices, and transport diversity
  • Serve as the senior escalation point for complex routing, SD-WAN, MPLS, and connectivity issues

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of enterprise or service provider networking experience with significant WAN and routing responsibilities
  • Strong hands-on experience designing, deploying, and troubleshooting Cisco SD-WAN solutions
  • Expertise with Cisco SD-WAN architecture, including overlay/underlay design, vManage, vBond, vSmart, templates, policies, and centralized management
  • Experience deploying SD-WAN across MPLS, Internet, broadband, LTE/5G, and hybrid WAN environments
  • Advanced routing knowledge including BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, EIGRP, route redistribution, route maps, filtering, prefix lists, and policy-based routing
  • Knowledge of MPLS services including L3VPN, L2VPN, VRFs, PE/CE routing, QoS, and carrier handoff models
  • Experience with Cisco Catalyst 8000/8500, ISR, ASR, or equivalent WAN edge platforms
  • Understanding of WAN circuit delivery, carrier handoffs, fiber optics, routers, switches, firewalls, and LAN aggregation infrastructure
  • Ability to troubleshoot across physical, transport, routing, SD-WAN, application, and security layers
  • Experience leading migrations, WAN transformations, circuit turn-ups, maintenance windows, and production cutovers
  • Strong documentation and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure, CCIE Service Provider, CCNP Enterprise, or equivalent certification
  • Advanced experience with Cisco SD-WAN templates, centralized policies, segmentation, and large-scale deployments
  • Experience integrating SD-WAN with firewalls, SASE, cloud platforms, data centers, and campus networks
  • Knowledge of fiber technologies, carrier Ethernet, DWDM, dark fiber, OTDR testing, and route diversity
