Lab Technician Sr. / Pre-Analytical Laboratory Technician I Location: Redwood City, CA Day Shift
Work Arrangement: OnsiteJob Description: Seeking a Pre-Analytical Laboratory Technician I to support sample accessioning, sample management, data entry, order processing, and specimen storage in a high-volume laboratory environment. Key Responsibilities:
Receive, sort, unpack, accession, and track incoming laboratory samples.
Verify patient demographics, sample IDs, labeling, requisitions, and collection information.
Enter and verify sample and patient information using LIMS and laboratory software.
Perform order entry, order processing, insurance verification, and billing information review.
Scan, organize, and maintain pathology reports, requisitions, and other laboratory documentation.
Transcribe relevant medical information from pathology reports and associated documents.
Maintain accurate sample records, specimen storage, and traceability.
Perform equipment maintenance and document maintenance activities.
Follow SOPs, GDP, ISO 15189, QMS, health and safety, and laboratory procedures.
Identify and resolve sample or workflow issues and assist with workflow triage.
Maintain clean and organized laboratory and common areas.
Participate in process improvement and quality initiatives.
Use laboratory equipment including microscopes, microtomes, pipettes, blades, and centrifugation equipment as required.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation while meeting quality and productivity goals.
Work effectively in a fast-paced, changing laboratory environment.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED.
Basic computer and email skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Strong attention to detail and data-entry accuracy.
Ability to follow SOPs and laboratory regulations.
Ability to work with laboratory samples and potentially hazardous materials.
