    What you'll do

    • Prepare plats, maps, and legal descriptions using AutoCAD Civil 3D
    • Support the development of ALTA, boundary, topographic, subdivision, and as-built surveys in compliance with applicable standards
    • Research and interpret deeds, easements, plats, and other survey documents
    • Create field search plans and assist with boundary resolution efforts
    • Coordinate and direct field crews for boundary, topographic, utility location, and construction staking activities
    • Prepare survey deliverables including plats, exhibits, and legal descriptions for professional review
    • Utilize survey equipment including robotic total stations and GNSS systems; support LiDAR and UAV efforts as applicable
    • Communicate with clients, engineers, government officials, and project stakeholders
    • Support both office and field operations as needed, including occasional site visits

    What you bring

    High school diploma or equivalent required
    • Degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Surveying, or related field and/or NSPS Survey Certification preferred
    • 10+ years of surveying experience, including a minimum of 5 years in either field or office
    • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office (Carlson experience a plus)
    • Strong knowledge of surveying practices and procedures (field and office)
    • Experience preparing ALTA, boundary, topographic, subdivision, and as-built surveys
    • Ability to read and interpret legal documents, plats, and survey records
    • Experience coordinating and directing field crews
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment
    Valid driver's license required
    • Ability to work a regular schedule of Monday-Thursday 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.; Friday 7:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m., with occasional overtime
    • Willingness to work in both office and field environments as needed

    Physical Requirements

    Ability to work outdoors with exposure to insects, snakes, and other environmental conditions
    • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
    • Ability to work in a wide range of temperatures and weather conditions
    • Ability to climb hills and walk long distances
    • Ability to traverse varying terrain in both rural and urban environments
    • Ability to lift and carry surveying equipment, instruments, and supplies
    • Ability to interact effectively with team members, clients, and stakeholders in field and office settings

    Schedule:

    On-site: Monday-Thursday 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.; Friday 7:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m.
    Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
