Senior Land Surveyor

Soltesz is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Surveyor to join our Rockville, Maryland office. This is an exciting opportunity for a licensed survey professional to play a key role in supporting land development and right-of-way projects throughout the region while collaborating with engineers, planners, survey crews, and public agencies. 

The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality survey services. This position offers the opportunity to lead survey operations, coordinate field and office activities, and contribute to a diverse range of residential, commercial, and public-sector projects. 

What You'll Do

As a Senior Surveyor, you will support a variety of survey and land development projects while serving as a key resource for both field and office staff.

Responsibilities include:

• Perform and oversee topographic, boundary, ALTA/NSPS, as-built, and construction layout surveys
• Prepare plats, easements, legal descriptions, and metes and bounds descriptions
• Support land development and right-of-way projects throughout the project lifecycle
• Coordinate daily activities of survey crews and ensure field and office needs are met
• Work closely with engineers, project teams, clients, and regulatory agencies
• Communicate effectively with local and municipal authorities regarding project requirements and approvals
• Ensure survey deliverables meet applicable professional standards and client expectations
• Provide technical expertise and support to the Director of Surveys and project teams 

What You'll Bring

• Registered Land Surveyor in the State of Maryland
• 10+ years of progressive experience in surveying and land development projects
• Experience supporting residential and commercial development projects
• Strong knowledge of public agency codes, procedures, and surveying standards
• Proficiency with AutoCAD; MicroStation experience preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to coordinate multiple priorities and collaborate effectively with project teams
• Montgomery County experience preferred
• Associate's Degree preferred
