Senior Lathe Machinist - 1st Shift

POSITION SNAPSHOT:

This position is for an experienced Senior CNC/Lathe Machinist responsible for independently setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining a wide range of machining equipment used to manufacture highly precise components. The role requires expertise with lathes, mills, grinders, boring mills, and both 3-axis and 5-axis machines, along with the ability to interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions. The machinist is expected to select tooling, adjust machine settings, optimize feeds and speeds, and make programming or operational changes as needed to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and quality throughout the production process.

A significant focus of the role is on precision manufacturing and quality assurance. The successful candidate must be capable of holding extremely tight tolerances while utilizing precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, dial indicators, and other inspection equipment to verify compliance with engineering requirements. Responsibilities also include performing preventive maintenance, diagnosing machining issues, collaborating with engineering and production teams to resolve technical challenges, maintaining accurate production and inventory records, and adhering to established quality standards and procedures. Experience with continuous improvement initiatives, manufacturing best practices, and quality management systems is highly valued.

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, safety-conscious machinist with approximately five or more years of machining experience, including exposure to CNC manufacturing environments. Strong problem-solving abilities, the capacity to work with minimal supervision, and effective collaboration skills are essential. The position operates within a manufacturing environment that requires the regular use of personal protective equipment and strict adherence to safety protocols.
