Role: Senior / Lead Data Engineer (Multiple Roles)
100% Remote (US)
Job Type: W2 Contract
NOTE: C2C (or) Third-party candidates are not accepted
Role #1:
We're looking for a Data Engineer with strong SQL Server expertise and Infrastructure-as-Code skills to support database migration and provisioning work on GCP. This role spans SQL Server migration to Cloud SQL, infrastructure automation via Terraform, and broader work across PostgreSQL, AlloyDB, Dataflow, and DMS.
Key Responsibilities:
Migrate SQL Server databases to Cloud SQL (SQL Server), including schema conversion, data validation, and cutover planning
Use DMS (Database Migration Service) to execute migrations with minimal downtime
Build and maintain Terraform modules to provision and manage Cloud SQL, AlloyDB, and related GCP infrastructure
Support PostgreSQL and AlloyDB workloads - schema design, performance tuning, and migration support
Design and build data pipelines using Dataflow to support migration and ongoing data movement needs
Troubleshoot replication, compatibility, and performance issues across SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and AlloyDB environments
Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to align migration and provisioning timelines
Document infrastructure-as-code patterns, migration runbooks, and architecture decisions
Required Skills & Experience:
Strong hands-on experience with SQL Server (administration, migration, performance tuning)
Experience with Cloud SQL (SQL Server) and DMS for database migrations
Proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and management
Working knowledge of PostgreSQL and AlloyDB (schema design, query optimization)
Experience building data pipelines with Dataflow
Comfortable troubleshooting cross-platform database migration and compatibility issues
Role #2:
We're looking for a Data Engineer with broad database expertise across relational and NoSQL systems, with primary focus on database migration and Cloud SQL, and secondary exposure to NoSQL platforms and backup/disaster recovery practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Support database migrations using DMS (Database Migration Service), primarily into Cloud SQL
Administer and optimize Cloud SQL instances - performance tuning, schema management, high availability configuration
Provide support and guidance on Spanner for relevant workloads (scalability, schema design, query performance)
Contribute to NoSQL database efforts, including DynamoDB and other NoSQL platforms, as needed
Design and implement backup and disaster recovery (DR) strategies across database environments
Troubleshoot migration issues, replication lag, and data consistency problems
Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to plan migration timelines and minimize downtime
Document database architecture, migration runbooks, and DR procedures
Required Skills & Experience:
Primary: Strong hands-on experience with DMS (Database Migration Service) and Cloud SQL - migration planning, execution, and administration
Solid understanding of Spanner fundamentals (schema design, scalability considerations)
Secondary: Familiarity with DynamoDB or other NoSQL databases
Experience designing or implementing backup/DR strategies for database environments
Strong troubleshooting skills across relational and NoSQL systems
Comfortable working across a general database scope rather than a single specialized platform
Role #3:
We're looking for a Data Engineer with strong graph database expertise to support migration, modeling, and analysis work involving Neo4j and Spanner Graph. This role also involves working with data agents and applying graph algorithms to solve relationship-based data problems.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement graph data models in Neo4j and Spanner Graph
Support migration or interoperability efforts between Neo4j and Spanner Graph
Apply graph algorithms (e.g., shortest path, centrality, community detection, PageRank) to solve business and analytical problems
Build and integrate data agents to support graph-based querying, analysis, or automation workflows
Optimize graph queries for performance at scale (Cypher for Neo4j, GQL/SQL for Spanner Graph)
Collaborate with data science/analytics teams to translate relationship-based problems into graph solutions
Document graph schema design decisions and algorithm choices for maintainability
Required Skills & Experience:
Hands-on experience with Neo4j (Cypher query language, graph data modeling)
Experience with Spanner Graph or willingness/ability to quickly ramp up on GCP's graph offering
Strong understanding of graph algorithms and when to apply them (pathfinding, centrality, clustering, etc.)
Experience building or integrating data agents (AI agents interacting with data systems)
Solid data engineering fundamentals - schema design, query optimization, data pipeline integration
