Job Summary Senior Manager – Electrical & Software Engineering will plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee the activities of the Electrical & Software Engineering teams focused on BWCS's "Vision" product lines. This individual will work closely with the engineering team to ensure resources are allocated efficiently to support BWCS's strategic product development initiatives and collaborate with other departments to support the overall business strategy.Supervisory Responsibilities Recruit, interview, hire, and train engineering staff in the department.Manage the backlog of each engineer on the team.Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations.Handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.Responsibilities Work closely with Product Management and Project Management to prioritize work and allocate engineering resources to ensure key projects are completed on time.Actively track where the engineering teams' time is spent and identify ways to maximize time on New Product Development initiatives.In support of Project Managers, complete cost and resource commitment analysis for development projects and assist them in preparing development schedules.Align team activities to meet and/or exceed monthly financial commitments.Ensure that projects are completed within budget and in an economical manner.Establish and implement the strategic direction of the company's engineering initiatives.Identify areas of strength and potential weakness within the engineering department and establish appropriate action plans.Mentor early-career teammates and motivate the engineering department to build upon each other's strengths.Provide technical support and expertise for executives outside engineering.Identify, recommend, and implement new technologies, tools, and systems to improve organizational processes and decision‑making.Support engagement with design partners and vendors who are key to executing the product roadmap, new technology development, addressing obsolescence, and/or fulfilling orders.Establish, communicate, and implement engineering and development policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent operations.Drive the engineering team to support the larger cross‑functional organization (including manufacturing, supply chain, and after‑sales/field service) to ensure BWCS‑IET's success with customers.Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in engineering and development related to the organization's industry.Perform other duties as assigned.Required Skills / Abilities Goal driven with a strong sense of urgency.Strong leadership abilities and experience.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Extensive knowledge of software and electrical engineering principles and procedures.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Excellent time‑management skills.Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.Continuous learning attitude.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Software Engineering required.At least ten years of related experience required.Knowledge of Color Theory is a strong plus.Familiar with contemporary team‑building and leadership techniques and practices.Capable of working within a team‑oriented environment.Proven team‑building skills and the ability to promote them.Position may require occasional domestic or international travel.Physical Demands Manual Dexterity: Work requires skilled and accurate physical operations with some coordination.Physical Effort: Handling lightweight materials or equipment up to 15 lbs with no special speed or exertion.Working Conditions: Ordinary office, shop, field, or warehouse.Hazards: Negligible.
