Exciting opportunity for an Attorney with 4-10 years of experience within the registered funds legal space to join a dynamic legal team with a rapidly growing financial services client. This role is a crucial hire that will handle all registered funds legal matters.

The Senior Counsel will work with the Deputy General Counsel and other members of the legal team.
Main Responsibilities
- Advise on all registered funds related legal matters, including drafting and reviewing all offering, marketing and documentation, reviewing for SEC and FINRA compliance
- Provide legal advice and aid in provisions relating to 1940 Act compliance as it pertains to transactions, fund of fund matters, advisory, etc.
- Negotiate a wide range of agreements with registered fund counterparties, including closed-end funds, mutual funds, real estate investment trusts and various fund managers
- Manage outside counsel as necessary
- Work closely with other members of the legal team on additional projects as they arise
Profile
- JD from top law school with excellent academic credentials and GPA
- Admitted to NY State Bar
- 4-10 years of experience within the Registered Funds/Mutual Funds group of a top law firm or in-house at a registered fund or bank
- Very strong experience with the '40 Act, registered fund formation matters and mutual fund legal matters
- Team player
- Excellent communication skills
